Plot
Summary
Generations after Caesar’s death,
apes have formed numerous clans while humans have regressed into an animalistic
state, unable to speak. Noa, a young chimpanzee from a falconry clan, prepares
for his coming-of-age ritual by collecting eagle eggs, but an encounter with a
human scavenger leads to tragedy. While searching for a replacement egg, Noa
stumbles upon a group of armed ape raiders who eventually attack his village,
killing his father, Koro.
After his clan is abducted, Noa sets
out to rescue them with the help of Raka, an orangutan who shares Caesar's
teachings. Along the way, they meet Mae, a human woman who can speak. She
reveals that Noa's clan has been taken to a coastal settlement where Proximus
Caesar, an ambitious bonobo, enslaves other ape clans to access lost human
technology.
Noa and Mae, joined by others, plant
explosives to destroy the vault containing human weapons. As the apes face off
against Proximus, Mae triggers the explosion, destroying the vault and flooding
the bunker. The story concludes with Noa leading his clan to safety and
questioning the possibility of peaceful coexistence between apes and humans,
while Mae travels to an intelligent human settlement, reactivating satellites
to communicate with other human colonies.
